Pre, mid and post credit scenes are a standard in the feature films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where one or more short clips are shown right before, during or after the end credits of a movie. These scenes often employ humor, conclude plot lines  or foreshadow future movies.

Iron Man Post Credit Scene

Tony Stark enters his mansion to find J.A.R.V.I.S disabled. Nick Fury emerges from the shadows and informs Stark that “Iron Man” isn’t the worlds only superhero while bringing up the Avengers Initiative.

 

The Incredible Hulk Pre Credit Scene

Tony Stark approaches a dejected General Ross who is drinking at a bar alone and informs him “they are putting a team together”.

This scene is also a part of the one-shot “The Consultant” and was added to The Incredible Hulk to tie the movie into the MCU. 

Iron Man 2 Post Credit Scene

After being reassigned, Agent Coulson arrives in New Mexico at the crater site created by the landing of Mjölnir.  

 

Thor Post Credit Scene

Dr. Selvig arrives at a S.H.I.E.L.D facility and is greeted Nick Fury. Fury shows Selvig the Tesseract and asks him to investigate it further. Selvig agrees, although all involved are unaware that Loki is controlling Selvig’s mind. 

Captain America: The First Avenger Post Credit Scene

In a cut-down scene from the Avengers, Nick Fury approaches Steve Rogers with a mission to help save the world. 

 

Marvel’s The Avengers Mid Credit Scene

The Other tells his master, Thanos, of Loki’s defeat on Earth, calling humans unruly and that trying to conquer them would be similar courting “Death”, a prospect that brings a smile to Thanos’ face.

Iron Man 3 Post Credit Scene

After recounting the events of his battle with Killian and his struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder to Bruce Banner, Tony realizes Banner slept through most of the story. Banner tells Tony he’s not that kind of doctor, but Tony is unfazed and quickly launches into another story. 

 

Thor: The Dark World Mid Credit Scene

Sif and Volstagg bring the Aether(Reality Stone) to Taneleer Tivan, the Collector, for safe keeping unaware that the Collector is planning on tracking down the remaining Infinity Stones.

Unsure of when she will she Thor again, a distraught Jane Foster is sharing breakfast with Darcy, Ian and Dr. Selvig, when a portal opens on her balcony. Thor and Jane share an embrace and then the Jotunheim Beast is seen chasing a flock of birds through London. 

 

Captain America: The Winter Solider Mid Credit Scene

Strucker and a rogue branch of HYDRA have Loki’s Scepter, the Mind Stone, and are performing experiments on it. Through these experiments the twins, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are given superpowers becoming Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver.

A group of Wakandan children awaken the White Wolf, Bucky Barnes, who has been awakened from cryostasis. He emerges from his hut and speaks with Shuri, who tells him he has much to learn.

As citizens of New York are being erased from existence, Nick Fury manages to get a distress beacon off to Captain Marvel before he and Maria Hill are the latest victims of Thanos’ infamous Snap.

Hank, Janet and Hope guide Scott as he travels to the Quantum Realm as he collects Quantum Healing Particles. As Scott radios for them to bring him back, Hank, Janet and Hope all fall victim to the Decimation leaving Scott trapped in the Quantum Realm.

Peter Parker and MJ finish their swing around New York. A breaking news bulletin with J. Jonah Jameson, the editor of The Daily Bugle, releasing leaked footage of Mysterio, in which he suggests Spider-Man murdered him and ordered the recent drone attack.  

 

Spider-Man: Far From Home Post Credit Scene

Nick Fury and Maria Hill are revealed to be Talos and Soren. At the behest of Soren, Talos reaches out to the real Nick Fury, who is on a space station commanding a crew of Skrulls, and informs him of recent events.
